Whisper Hill Bath & Body Is An All-Natural Way to Pamper Yourself

By Elisha Neubauer

In today's day and age, we are inundated with preservatives, chemicals, and other harsh ingredients in everything from our food to our soaps and shampoos. The synthetic fragrances, preservatives, and other chemicals which are being used in personal care products have been thought to contain some nasty ingredients that have been linked to cancer and other disorders.

To escape the influx of harsh chemicals we face on a daily basis, Whisper Hill Bath & Body launched its company in the late 1990s for consumers looking for natural products free of today's toxins.

Whisper Hill Bath & Body was founded by Randy and Jennie Cysyk. During the 90s, Randy was working as a chef for an upscale hotel and Jennie was making a living as an acupuncturist. The pair knew they wanted to create something together and opted on natural soaps and body products. They believed the line of all-natural products would utilize both their talents: his as a chef and hers as a practitioner of holistic medicine.

The business was started in their home, as they carted their products to local farmers markets during weekends. Before long, they were wholesaling their products on a small scale. In 2002, however, they decided to take the leap and moved into a retail space in Bridgewater Mill. Still participating in craft shows, farmers markets, and small-scale wholesaling, the retail aspect of the business began to grow, and in 2009, they moved once again. This time they moved to Quechee Gorge Village, their current location.

"We have also expanded to providing room amenities for many of the inns in the area as well as private label where we produce product for a few other small companies under their label," Cysyk said. "We make all of our products in the same space as our retail store."

The majority of Whisper Hill's products are 100% natural and are crafted from ingredients such as olive oil, goat's milk, aloe vera oil, castor oil, shea butter, and other nourishing components. No synthetic fragrances are used; instead each product is scented using essential oils. Products are created in small batches, to better control quality, right in the Quechee storefront. This not only utilizes the space, but allows browsing customers to actually see the products being made on-site.

"Products you put on the surface of your body are absorbed internally through your skin," Cysyk said. "Natural is the way to go."

In addition to being all-natural, the products purchased at Whisper Hill Bath & Body are attractively packaged, making them great little self-indulgences or even better gifts.
