Washington County is a very beautiful and natural area in Vermont with plenty of fun and active things to do! If you're considering the Vermont area, then you should definitely check out these top places to live in Washington County. It's located in the central region of the state, and it's right near New York State. Here are some great places to live in Washington County.

5. Montpelier

Montpelier is the capital of Vermont, and it has a population of about 7,800 people. This area is also located generally in the middle of Washington County, which is why it's a perfect location for the capital. This is a great place to live because of the central location and beautiful scenery.

Since the capital is located here, many residents are employed through the government. Transportation is available, whether you prefer the Interstate 89 or the great rail system it's convenient to commute to work! The Vermont College of Fine Arts is here, as well as the New England Culinary Institute, which is great for college students because there's more entertainment in the capital.

4. Berlin

Berlin is a great place to live for those who want more of a small town atmosphere. The population is about 2,900 people and it's another very gorgeous place! This would be the perfect place for business professionals, or those individuals seeking work, because there is a great deal of commercial business done here. Berlin is between Montpelier and Barre, which are two of the largest cities, so there is a lot of business done here.

, In existence since 1763, Middlesex is a very history-laden town. The population is around 1,700 people. Since this was once a place where farming and sheep herding were main sources of income, the land is rich and thriving with life.

This would be a perfect place to live for new families and younger couples who are ready to settle down. About 60% of the population in Middlesex consists of married couples living together, and over 37% had children under the age of 18 living with them. This is a nice neighborhood, with welcoming and active community that's perfect for any couple or family!

2. Barre

Barre is a larger city in Washington County, VT, so it appeals to a younger demographic. It has a population of about 9,000 people, but it has increased significantly in the micropolitan area. This is an interesting city because surrounding Barre is the town of Barre as well.

An average family makes about $42,600 a year and the median income for a household in the city is roughly $30,400. There is an opera house, museum, and even the Studio Place Arts to go to for fun! For someone who is looking for more of a city life, with a wider opportunity for night life and a variety of things to do for entertainment, Barre is definitely the place for you!

This town is rich with heritage and history. Waterbury is such a great place to live because it's where small business started local, and went on to become very successful. This is where Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters originated. It has a small town feel, and the surrounding environment is a beautiful place for any nature lover to live!
