Find Lasting Restoration for Your Body with Epic Wellness

By Marina I. Jokic

A general chiropractic service provider, Epic Wellness in South Burlington focuses on traditional and sports chiropractic and massage therapy that target recovery and injury prevention. A member of the Epic Wellness staff, chiropractic physician Dr. Wendy Mehaffey is an expert in sports therapy, holistic medicine, and nutritional health.

Dr. Mehaffey earned her chiropractic board certificate in 2004 and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree soon thereafter. After finishing massage therapy school a few years later, she knew it was time to put her skills into action. Wanting to integrate her interest in natural medicine with her everyday practice, she and her husband opened their own clinic in Denver in 2004 and ran the center until 2010 when they moved to Vermont to raise their kids.

"Epic Wellness was started in 2009 with the vision to enhance performance and wellness in the workplace," Mehaffey said. "The employees find great benefits from the convenience of having access to care directly at work; this is by far the [most popular] topic we hear employees rave about."

Returning to her native Vermont, Mehaffey wanted to continue helping people through physical therapy and nutritional counseling. As a child, she had herself benefited from homeopathic medicine when addressing her chronic migraines. Through massage, proper nutrition, and chiropractic care, she found relief from her headaches for good. Passionate about the power of physical therapy and nutrition, Mehaffey wanted to share her knowledge and so joined Epic Wellness.

"We are here to help bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be," Mehaffey said. "Our South Burlington chiropractors set themselves apart by working with both the muscles and the joints to help achieve a longer lasting effect of care."

Chiropractic is one of the most impactful professions out there, constantly evolving and adopting new and more effective techniques. Faster and long-lasting results occur when we can relax the muscles first then work on joint alignment, including the extremities.

Epic Wellness provides on-site service to over 50 companies throughout Vermont and is always in high demand. In 2015, the first studio location was opened to keep up with a growing clientele. Their mission continues to center around enhancing healthcare access and quality in the community.

"We recognized how difficult taking time out of work (or even after work) to make doctor appointments has become, especially when we have work and families to juggle," Mehaffey said. "The idea of traveling directly to workplaces just made sense."
